Important results from the project

The purpose of the study has been to investigate the interests of the project participants regarding a sustainable society in general, and the conditions for developing the digital infrastructure and sustainable mobility in particular. In the development of a sustainable transport system, digitalization and the digital infrastructure are an important piece of the puzzle, and the municipalities are a central actor. There are a number of challenges that must be met. In the project, we have together developed knowledge about possible strategies, techniques and collaborations.

Expected long term effects

The preliminary study has resulted in a greater knowledge of which technology would need to be integrated. The six different workshops have been used to create a knowledge-based consensus that forms a good basis for a successful future project. The new opportunities that digitization brings can and should contribute to the municipal mission. Even within the EU, it has been established that digitization is one of the most important tools for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the transport sector through automated transportation and smart logistics.

Approach and implementation

The project plan for the preliminary study has been divided into a mapping of the participants´ and Hässleholm municipality´s current situation in a transport and logistics system context. From there to the development they see and what position they wish to be in if and when the opportunity is given for a full-scale project. A total of six working meetings have been held within the scope of the preliminary study, while smaller discussions have been held between the participants during the course of the project.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
