Viktiga resultat som projektet gav

The central purpose of the project is to analyse how a number of innovation competitors in emerging economies move rapidly from low cost production to advanced product development, and what Sweden-based firms can learn from them. The project intended to study four industry sectors (telecom, white goods, aircrafts and cars) and plans to compare firms both across sectors and within sectors and across countries. During implementation we had to select three of these: white goods, aircrafts and cars. This selection proved to provide suffieicnet variaiton, see also below.

Långsiktiga effekter som förväntas

We selected three of the suggested four sectors: white goods, aircrafts and cars. Our results are documented in conference papers, and book chapters under publishing, and have been communicated to relevant Swedish companies. With one of these companies we have recently entered into a deeper partnership including a recently stasrted 3-year porject. This selection proved to provide suffieicnet variaiton, see also below.

Upplägg och genomförande

To study the three selected industries/firms we used three methods: Interviews with involved managers and stakeholders in Turkey, and with corresponding firms in Sweden Participation in industry conferences, e g. organized by Fraunhofer in Turkey; Comparative IPR-investigation in collaboration with Thomson Reuters. The various methods and firm findings have been compared to identify patterns, problems and important factors. The results have been presented at the R&D Management and DRUID conferences to check the validity of the results.
