Viktiga resultat som projektet gav
We are more convinced now than before about the merits of our innovation to make insights from Heritage Studies applicable to managing hazardous waste in the long term. We have refined our thinking on how to work and exactly what to aim at, which is "the creation of living cultural heritage by initiating heritage processes that can contribute to maintaining long-term memory across generations". In addition, we are more certain now than before that all project partners can successfully collaborate, have trust in our innovative idea, and agree on how a joint project is to be conducted.
Långsiktiga effekter som förväntas
We are still convinced that novel practices notably based on heritage processes can be effective for keeping memory across generations. Our innovation can contribute to providing future generations with the needed information for making knowledgeable decisions concerning toxic legacies inherited from the past. This ought to result in modifications of existing national laws and regulations so that they become more explicit regarding the general need and appropriate approaches for preserving relevant information over centuries and millennia.
Upplägg och genomförande
We followed the work plan which worked well. We ran the planned international workshop in May in Stockholm. We also held three one-day project workshops in September, November and January in Stockholm and Kalmar. All events were well attended by the project members and they were also well prepared and followed up by our project coordinator Claudio Pescatore. Pescatore also conducted a survey about expectations among all project members and identified their perceived risks and threats.
