Viktiga resultat som projektet gav

When we move, we trust that we automatically know which parts of the world make up our body and which parts do not. When this project is finished, it will provide exciting new information about how the sense of ownership over our body affects our ability to perform movements. This will increase our understanding of the relationship between self-perception and motor control.

Långsiktiga effekter som förväntas

When this project is complete it will have enhanced the fellow´s skills through training at Karolinska Institutet, particularly in the use of grip force recording. The project has strengthened KI´s research capacity as the applicant has trained group members on the use of non-invasive neurostimulation (transcranial magnetic stimulation), providing an outlet for future experiments using this method. When the project is complete it will build new scientific networks and strengthen Sweden´s role as an important contributor to research in human sensorimotor science.

Upplägg och genomförande

The project covered three experimental components. The first component is behavioural (~ 6 months), which was the only component eventually addressed by the project. We expect this to be complete by the end of 2021, due to delays arising from the coronavirus pandemic.
