Ramprogrammet Horisont Europa is the EU's most comprehensive research and innovation program to date. It runs between the years 2021–2027 and has a budget of EUR 95.5 billion.

The main purpose of the Horisont Europa program is to stimulate research and innovation in cooperation between mainly member and associated countries and the rest of the world. Horisont Europa also aims to engage citizens and social actors in the common challenges we face, where research and innovation can contribute to sustainable solutions.

This yearbook reports Sweden's participation in the EU's ninth framework program for research and innovation - Horisont Europa - during the period 1 January 2021 when the program started until January 2024. The yearbook highlights and reports on Sweden's participation in an international context. Some things that are presented are how Sweden stands in comparison with other countries, which Swedish organizations have been successful in the framework program, and how the EU funds granted by Sweden are distributed between different types of organizations and counties.

In June 2024, the yearbook will be supplemented with analysis and follow-up of Sweden's participation in EU-funded materials research.
