Call | Future prototypes for a sustainable forest value chain |
Purpose and goal
What happens if we ´listen to Yggdrasil´ - the world tree of Norse mythology? Purpose: Contribute to climate transition by increasing use of circular materials and bio-intelligence through AI. Objective: Develop a future prototype and explore 1) whether the voice of ecosystems can be integrated in decision-making in corporate meeting rooms 2) whether it is possible to design meeting rooms with biobased materials, for CO2 footprint of offices/corporations to be reduced.
Expected effects and result
To translate complex ecological relationships and human judgment into actionable insights that companies can use in decision-making and in designing sustainable workplaces, using cutting-edge AI. As well as inspiring future Vinnova calls for proposals and more corporations to use strategic foresight.
Planned approach and implementation
Unique composition of cross-sectoral expertise: workplace strategy, AI, biomaterials, foresight, forestry, design, digitalization, behavior, mission-oriented innovation. In AI-augmented foresight talks we collect weak signals. Speculative design is used and future scenarios about bio-intelligence and bio-based materials are created. A physical prototype is placed in the innovation center at Stora Enso, one of the largest forest owners of the world. Parts may be exposed elsewhere.
