Important results from the project

More than 17% of the Swedish population is 65 years old or more. Out of these, on average 50% feel very lonely. In combination with the pressure from society to care for more for less and family members working further away, the elderly may get even more lonely. myJocie has developed a world unique video phone, conncted to the TV and will now in a study understand if and how the video phone may reduce loneliness for elderly.

Expected long term effects

Together with the municipalies of Goteborg and Malmo, and live with a group of elderly people in their homes, the project will assess 1. will video communication result in less loneliness for the elderly 2. will it reduce cost for care providers
