Important results from the project
Write Your Self is a digital certification in writing after trauma. Users are individuals who have experienced trauma and the professionals who work with them. Write Your Self’s methodology is based on international research, pedagogic and trauma- therapeutic experience, which show that writing has great potential to efficiently address consequences after trauma. During the project, we verified a business model possible to scale globally, and investigated franchise as a model for international expansion.
Expected long term effects
One year after project completion, the certification product will be able to be offered via a completely scaleable digital platform. International expansion will have been initiated, with the first retailers assigned. Further funding for international expansion will be secured. The company will be an established distributor to at least ten large, national organisations. Five years after project completion, the goal is to have retailers in at least ten other countries.
Approach and implementation
Project period November 2017 - August 2018. Based on feedback from pilot customers, the digital business model has been verified, which has resulted in a MVP, Minimal Viable Product, tested on Swedish and international markets. Franchising has been investigated as a business model for the company’s international expansion. A consulting board member of the Swedish Franchise Association has been hired. Licensing or direct franchising has been recommended as a first franchise model, and over time, possible master franchising. Project leader is Åsa Boström, owner of Write Your Self.
