Important results from the project
Our aims were to create a framework for open innovation in the wood industry and to create a network of partners to help support future challenges. In this regard, we´ve accomplished our aims and to some extent surpassed them as we will soon be launching additional challenges outside of the wood industry and we´re also made contact with organisations outside of Sweden.
Expected long term effects
The process of innovation is one that focuses on knowledge and collaboration and we extended our first challenge. The results and the impact of the project has reached our project aims. Also, the results of creating the portal for open innovation have been far reaching. We are now talking to organisations in the UK and the USA about collaborating on future challenges in the wood industry.
Approach and implementation
During the project we´ve faced a number of challenges, mostly in terms of systems and integrating those to work with other aspects of the project. From a design perspective, we have focused on user experience and having the site function on all devices. This was initially challenging, however we have now become accustomed to using this and all future challenges will also be developed in this way. We believe the success of this project is demonstrated in the fact that we are launching two more challenges over the next three months.
