Purpose and goal

Purpose: Explore the generative AI capacity to represent people with disabilities Establish a sustainable collaboration for research, innovation, and teaching between the Department of Applied IT at the University of Gothenburg, and KEDGE Business School Goals: 1. Knowledge exchange and transfer outside the organizations related to AI and inclusion 2. Form a basis for long-term cooperation between the universities in matters of AI and inclusion 3. Create an environment for the universities to impact international research, innovation, and policymaking related to generative AI

Expected effects and result

We expect the following results: 1. An initial understanding of generative AI biases towards people with disabilities 2. This understanding will be the basis for further exploration through a common bigger project connecting Sweden and France with AI leaders from more countries. 3. Raising awareness about generative AI biases towards people with disabilities through scientific publications and popularization of science. 4. A micro-credential course based on the knowledge exchange and generation during the project’s activities

Planned approach and implementation

Kickstart the project Identify activities for long-lasting cooperation between the universities (research and teaching) and plan the workshops proposed. Explore the capacity of generative AI to represent people with disabilities through co-creation workshops. Disseminate the workshops’ results to the public and research through popularisation and scientific publication. Set the basis for long-lasting collaboration on AI and inclusion by exploring future cooperation opportunities and mapping other actors we should involve in exploiting the project’s results.
