Important results from the project
The purpose is to produce a chassis design with retained strength, which is at least 30% lighter than existing constructions for corresponding machines, through careful material use and material selection.
Expected long term effects
The development of a lightweight design of a geometrically changing lightweight chassis for a tool carrier, has led to a new design of center chassis and support arms that better use the high strength materials´ ability to carry loads, cut, weld and after machined. Our assessment is that it will give a product to the amphibious market that will better cope with the requirements that come from the Water Directive and agenda 2030. As well as give the contractors who will use the machine a competitive advantage over those who use other machines on the market.
Approach and implementation
The project has been carried out with requirements on the chassis from driving issues of the design: Market requirements. (Entrepreneurs, Water Directive, agenda 2030) Space requirements (Hydraulics and operation) Service and maintenance. Manufacturing. Cost. These requirements have been processed with the help of specialists in steel SSAB, Strength calculations, geometry MK3D, Manufacturing, welding machining Skärås mechanical.
