Important results from the project
A cleantech competition in Uppsala was conducted by Håll Ut in the autumn / winter of 2014 in collaboration with the Municipality of Uppsala, IBM and Uppsala Innovation Centre. The focus of the competition was to improve air quality in the city. The competition was looking for solutions that were innovative and not yet implemented on a large scale. After the competition´s final the winning entry will be implemented in the city and thus contribute to Uppsala become a more sustainable city.
Expected long term effects
The interest of both innovation and environmental technology competitions has increased. Ideas that have previously been difficult to take to the next step has been helped along the way. And above all, the winner was granted to implement a pilot project together with Uppsala municipality. The implementation of the winning entry will contribute to the work towards a more sustainable Uppsala.
Approach and implementation
The competition structure was well defined and with a range that allowed many different solutions to the problem. The contest was conducted during November, December and January 2014/2015. Despite a tight schedule so was the quality of the contributions high and well suited for the race set-up. The award ceremony took place at a major event in Uppsala, where businesses, officials and politicians from Uppsala were represented.
