Important results from the project
Our purpose was to analyse the preconditions of building a pilotplant in Sri Lanka as well as validating the processes for treatment of water and financial set up. We have achived a local project organisation and have a site for a pilot plant with local partners and we have made the analyses necessary for starting the building process of the pilotplant. We have further etablished a cooperation with RI.se for the financial process where they want to set up a research project with us.
Expected long term effects
The response from local partners and customers is very good. We have one group of local partners for the demonstration plant and also with a group of 15-20 plantation owners for further full scale projects and the county of Puttalam in northeast Sri Lanka. We can see a great intresst and market in Sri Lanka, and when addressing India our potential is huge only in this part of the world. The concept however is suitable for major parts of the global challange of providing water.
Approach and implementation
We have been working in parallell tracks where we both have analysed the local conditions for water treatment and at the same time established cooperations with RI.se for development of the financial application.
