Purpose and goal

The project aims to create new and complementary perspectives, methods, and mindsets on the community planning process, while developing long-term management and development strategies. The project seeks to answer the question of which environments encourage physical activity and how new facilities designed to promote interaction and exercise can be shaped to be attractive and inclusive. The goal is for more people to feel a sense of belonging and ownership in Luleå´s ice roads, to encourage interactions between different community groups, and to reduce social exclusion.

Expected effects and result

The project tackles societal challenges around inclusion, accessibility, public health, and physical activity. It emphasizes the importance of involving more people in movement and activity throughout their lives. The project also addresses the right to equitable use of our public environments. By providing open and accessible facilities and activities for physical activity, we lower the barriers to participation and open the door for more people to step in and try out.
