Vision Zero by Sweden

Important results from the project

Vision Zero by Sweden is a planned road safety program that aims to consolidate Sweden´s position in the field of road safety globally. The goals are to reduce deaths and serious injuries in traffic globally and to promote Swedish exports in the area. Business Sweden has carried out a feasibility study to make this traffic safety program possible. Important actors, such as the Swedish Transport Administration, Safer and leading Swedish traffic safety companies have participated in the pre-study. The next step is to evaluate the possibility of launching the road safety program.

Expected long term effects

15 leading Swedish companies in road safety have expanded their international network of experts, decision makers and potential customers and partners. Around 100 international experts and decision makers in road safety have gained insight into innovative road safety solutions from Sweden and Swedish ways of working for increased road safety. Preparations to be able to launch a traffic safety platform have been done.

Approach and implementation

The project was divided into the following work packages: 1) objective and strategy 2) anchoring with company/industry 3) proposals for organization and governance a. establishing a reference group with representatives from the industry b. concretizing and formalizing forms of cooperation c. preparing a budget and proposals for funding 4) Produce program content and activities including description of the three modules: Activities, Market Prioritization, Tidsplan 5) Främjandeaktivitet in connection with the Vision Zero conference in June 2023
