Project duration May 2023 - November 2025
Status Ongoing
Venture The strategic innovation programme for Production2030

Purpose and goal

The VIVACE project combines multiple perspectives to create a toolkit for circular and eco-efficient production. The project directly aims to support manufacturing companies in their sustainability journey. The objectives are to: - Develop a framework for production and supply network visibility - Develop a practical toolkit to manage environmental performance at different levels - Translate EU sustainability requirements into actionable KPIs - Develop data models to improve resource efficiency and waste reduction in production and along supply chains

Expected effects and result

The project contributes to sustainable production (SDG12), climate action (SDG13), and sustainable industrialization (SDG9). The industrial impact relates to the four levels (product, supply chain, factory and process) and will be achieved through increased efficiency and circularity in manufacturing, as well as more durable products. The project will deliver wider societal impact through sustainability and cost assessments as well as skills and knowledge development for managers, workers and customers for sustainability transition in industry.

Planned approach and implementation

The project is divided into work packages that relate to different levels (scope of analysis) matching industrial needs: entire value chains and product life cycles, distribution chains, factories and manufacturing processes. For each level, industry-driven use cases will help develop data-supported solutions for eco-efficiency and circular economy. These solutions will form a scalable toolkit which will be shared beyond the project consortium and aim to create a long-lasting impact beyond the project´s lifetime.
