Important results from the project
Our long term aim is to create an infrastructure which allows for condition or examination specific service-solutions which are provided by the caregiver through a virtual and automatized process. We have identified a type of platform which incorporates policy automation as a central function and national solutions which supports the development of such a platform. the next step is to head into a larger development project which also includes the procurement of innovative solutions as pilots for testing.
Expected long term effects
The result of the pre-study is the identification of a framework and platform which shall be developed in a larger scale development project in cohesion with the existing national services and the ones being developed. We have identified a process for self-care which can be carried out through distance spanning technology and also two areas of examination to be tested as pilots. The long-term expected results are reduced waiting times for care, reduced sick travels, the release of time for personnel as well as new types of partnerships and collaboration between caregivers and suppliers.
Approach and implementation
The pre-study has consisted of a smaller project group med project managers and a coordinator. The group has been responsible for investigating the possibility of a larger scale development project, start writing a project plan, carry out market research and initiate the test of equipment for self-care/self-use. The work has been carried out in collaboration with IT-strategic officer, procurement lawyer, innovation unit and research unit. marketing research has been conducted through personal contacts, external monitoring and through a RFI.
