Important results from the project
The objectives of the project have been met. 1- A turbine module and compressor module working in the virtual demonstrator with 3D description and performance data fed back to engine model. Published: Grönstedt et al, "Multidisciplinary Assessment..", 2- Layout with valued benefit for carbon fiber blades. published in: Chalke et al "Aeroelastic Tailoring..", 3- An electric generator concept with critical characteristic identified and described and testing carried out. published : Reinap et al.,"Analysis and Development of Generator", in ICAS 33 Congress Stockholm, Sweden, 2022
Expected long term effects
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The most important results have been published. An important part of the project has also been to create background and relevant data that can be used in other research projects, both Swedish and international, where it can be difficult to get hold of relevant geometries or analysis data from an aircraft engine. The NFPP projects CoFAS, InGe and ADiSS use VIND data and geometries as a starting point, as well as the EU project EnableH2 and ARIAS. Within the turbomachine cluster we will be able to use the virtual engine for new projects.
Approach and implementation
** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The work has been carried out based on the project plan with mostly monthly online meetings and quarterly or half-yearly meetings between partners. The exchange of data and information has taken place continuously. GKN has been an information hub where designs in the project have been compiled. Specifications and collected data from CAD models and the like have then been distributed as requested. It has been very open within the project what can be shared by the content of the virtual models.
