Purpose and goal
The purpose of the project is to contribute to equal, efficient and patient-safe care through video-assisted 112 calls from callers to emergency dispatch centers. The goal is to conduct implementation, structured evaluation and further development of mobile phones´ IoT potential for emergency calls. The goal is to contribute to inclusive and accessible technology solutions, evidence-base/support for video as way of working, and technology-agnostic frameworks and knowledge support for the use and implementation of video and related IoT functionality in this healthcare domain.
Expected effects and result
At the end of the project, it is expected that: - several actors have started using video, of which some also having reached full implementation and evaluation - a structured process support has been developed and verified based on the work and experiences in the project - a knowledge base has been developed for the use of video between callers and the alarm center regarding e.g. patient outcomes and health economics - technology solutions and additional IoT functionality have been identified and further developed. - a proposal for business model(s) for national video service(s).
Planned approach and implementation
In the work of scaling up and spreading the use of 112-video calls in Sweden, educational materials, technical frameworks and guidelines for use will be created and freely available to be used by other organizations and actors outside the project. Furthermore, structured evaluations of the health and economic effects of video use are carried out; work to ensure the functionality of technology solutions regarding accessibility and equality aspects; as well as analysis and further development of the mobile phone´s additional IoT potential in alarm calls.
