Important results from the project

34 ideas have received support from a total influx of 184 ideas. The number of ideas that have received support is lower than expected, but the ideas that have received support have been more demanding than normal. 5 new companies have been started, of which 2 have joined Arctic Business. 4 Licenses have been acquired via LTU Licens, which means that the Idea Bearer does not need to find licensees for the technology itself, but rather does so within the framework of the Idea Bank funds.

Expected long term effects

It contributes to creating more spin-offs and useful knowledge, which in turn leads to jobs, tax revenues and increased Swedish competitiveness. This is because ideas from academia can be tested and verified at an early stage, so the most viable ideas are prioritized and realized. Other expected long-term effects are that the target groups at LTU are made aware of successful utilization, which in turn improves attitudes and awareness of support for utilization.

Approach and implementation

The project had two work packages 1. Projektledning The projectleader has led the work so that the project´s expected results are achieved, reports according to plan and national VFT meetings. 2. VFT funds in innovation support The VFT leader was responsible for ensuring that VINNOVA´s guidelines for VFT funds were followed, all innovation advisors used funds to qualify cases to a greater degree of maturity or completion and the entire operational group made decisions and followed up on these.
