Important results from the project
The purpose of the project has been to gain a deeper verification of properties, technical solutions and adjustments of the product. The dialogue with the testers and their unique experiences has given the company necessary knowledge of pros and cons with the product. The testers have given valuable input to improvements and adjustments. The company will ensure the possibility of this kind of feedback in the future.
Expected long term effects
1. Improvements: Construction of the push rim and its components, gear lever, durability and user friendly construction. 2. Feedback to leadership on weekly basics and a final evaluation together with operators in the project, testers and the company´s owners/leadership. This has given a deeper knowledge within the whole company. 3. Adjustments have been implemented as a result of the evaluation and markets segments has been identified. 4. Gained market knowledge and experience. 5. Technical improvements are constantly evaluated in the aspects of IPR.
Approach and implementation
One of the main challenges came early in the project, to find a solution regarding testing of medical devises that has not CE-marking. The solution was that the company employed the testers and the external evaluator took care of the evaluation. Every test person received new wheelchairs equipped with wheelchair wheels with gears and weekly meetings was held with the purpose of minimising identified risks and gain experiences during the project. The goals are regarded as fulfilled with less cost than first estimated.
