Important results from the project
Shoplifters frequently disable the exit alarm by removing alarm tags from product packaging. TamperShield prevents that by vacuum sealing the product. If opened the tag sends a radio alarm for further actions. A prototype system will be installed in a real store. Selected products are alarmed with either TamperShield or competing protection. The real customer value through increased sale, less manpower and theft is measured, the system is adapted to the store environment, and specifications are established for the mass production and global market introduction planned for 2012.
