Important results from the project
The purpose of the project was to take our company and solution from only a software solution to a hardware and software solution combined. This would be done by developing a minimum viable product sensor solution that can communicate and send data to our platform and app. The goal has been to do it in such a way that we build competence within the company to be able to create more electronic sensor solutions that collect data and decision support for farmers, for a healthier and more efficient agriculture. The project has successfully achieved this and has thus achieved its objective.
Expected long term effects
The result is an energy-efficient sensor that can sit on an electric fence far out in the farmer´s paddock without connection to a fixed power source. The sensor can detect and send a signal that gives the farmer a notification on his phone if the electric fence stops working. The outcome of the project is generally in line with the objectives that were set and the effect moving forward is that, in addition to being able to offer farmers who keep animals a solution for security that animals do not run away, we have also taken an important step to be able to develop commercially viable electronics
Approach and implementation
The project has been carried out in different work packages by different people. The work has included, adaptation of the backend for hardware, integration with hardware prototype, adaptation of the frontend for hardware, production of case that the electronics can be in, sourcing of components and material for hardware development, sourcing of manufacturing partners, certification of electronics.
