Important results from the project

Västerbotten without borders (VuG) aims to create a model for digital close care. Internet and Communication Technologies (ICTs) make it possible to utilize competences where they exist, allowing us to extend the reach of Healthcare across Europe. We will create a virtual clinic, located in Spain to attend patients covered by the Public Health System of the Region of Västerbotten. The project has been exploring opportunities to establish an activity in another EU country (Spain). We have contacted potential key partnerships and we have used service design to meet user´s needs.

Expected long term effects

During this step, we have developed a prototype of a model that has been tested on a smaller scale. After a comprehensive needs analysis, the project has established a site in Spain for the delivery of remote care. User tests have been carried out by delivering remote care from Spain to Primary Care centre and the municipality health services in Skellefteå. Successful contact with some potential key partnerships has been established. This project has used Service Design as a method for analysis of user´s need.

Approach and implementation

From the beginning, there has been strategic clarity about how the project will reach its objective. Transparency in the project group around the goal and the necessary activities to achieve them. The communication in the working group and with partners has been clear and continuous. Revision of the effect logic has taken place at regular intervals.
