Important results from the project
Yes. The trip for me was to develop connections within the Canadian mining industry and start early sales discussions with one or more Canadian mining companies. I was also able to get a better grip on the research funding opportunities in Canadian.
Expected long term effects
The study trip allowed me to validate the expansion of VAST into Canada. The flow-on effect will be that the knowledge, expertise, and experience developed by VAST Canada will filter back into Sweden’s mining sector, helping to improve its sustainability and competitiveness in social, environmental, and economic areas.
Approach and implementation
The project was carried out as planned. The below steps were followed and completed leading into the trip; - LinkedIn networking and reach-out campaign with Canadian companies and key staff members people who are participating. - Develop a company pitch. - Research the participating Canadian companies and their sites, e.g., what they are mining, what their mining method is, what the stage of mining is, where VAST can add value, etc. - Travel planning and bookings.
