Value-oriented and inclusive digitalisation

Purpose and goal

The project aims to create conditions for a transition to a more value-oriented and inclusive digitalization. The goals are to: - Gain a deeper and broader understanding of digital exclusion in relation to the overall system of digitalization and technological transformation, - Develop new solutions together with a wide range of stakeholders, - Develop a proposal on how a transition to a more value-oriented and inclusive digitalization with universally promoting measures can be implemented

Expected effects and result

With a deeper understanding of the systematic barriers that create digital divides and how they can be changed, the project can elevate the issue of digital exclusion to a policy and system level, shifting from compensatory to preventive measures. The results can increase knowledge about different types of digital exclusion and empower stakeholders in digitalization efforts. In the long term, this can enhance mental well-being, reduce involuntary loneliness, and increase participation.

Planned approach and implementation

The project focuses on mapping, idea generation, and policy labs. The City of Helsingborg leads the project, with Lund University contributing to mapping, analysis, and linking the results to research. Civil society and associations in Helsingborg, which work with target groups experiencing the consequences of digital exclusion, are important actors in the project. A wide range of the City of Helsingborg´s operations participate to anchor and utilize the results.
