Important results from the project
The aim to develop a platform, that can facilitate the sharing of premises, with the goal of helping more actors find cheap & flexible premises, despite the intrusion of the pandemic, is met according to us. We have succeeded in helping several organizations, like associations, NGO´s, civil society & companies, to use premises that would otherwise be vacant. This has meant a reduced footprint for the building, as more people use it, as well as reduced rental costs, as these have been shared. We see a continuing need for this service, especially now that the pandemic hopefully is behind us.
Expected long term effects
For obvious reasons, our results and expected effects were smaller than we thought with the pandemic. In several cases, however, we have had longer shared uses over several hours a month to several hours a week and which extend over several years. In all our shared uses, one has either expressed a relief at having finally found a suitable room and / or expressed savings in room costs. In other cases, they have expressed a joy at being able to share premises with other actors who they find to be able to add value to their own organization and to the atmosphere in the premises.
Approach and implementation
In the beginning, the idea was that we would focus on collaborations with schools, which we had established in the beginning. But due to the pandemic, the schools closed down & therefore we had to broaden the focus to make all possible premises available. Gymnasiums, offices, churches, civil society facilities, lecture halls, etc. We went out into lots of different channels to get these premises up & at the same time refine our offer of services for managing shared use. We have therefore been able to be much more frugal than if we had spent money for time vacancies that would end up useless
