Important results from the project
The purpose and goal of the project was to investigate and develop business models and technical solutions for local production and storage of renewable energy, for robust energy supply and power balance. The goal has been met by gradually achieving a number of milestones concerning e.g. the identification and analysis of modular energy systems, planning for the development and utilization, stakeholder analysis, draft of a partnership agreement, to associate relevant stakeholders to the project and business intelligence that recognizes the needs and conditions in a global market.
Expected long term effects
The project has outlined technical solutions how to build, dimension and control a renewable energy system with storage, and evaluated available tools for simulation of energy systems. The solutions will not be based on a particular storage solution or a specific type of renewable energy, but adapted to local conditions. Possible applications for the system have been identified where we already can see profitability. In addition to providing robust energy supply, there are also good conditions to create new business and export opportunities.
Approach and implementation
The project has organized a series of workshops with all project partners. Between meetings, work has been carried out through deeper analysis and web meetings. The consortium consists of the entire chain, including a small energy company, a research institute, the end users of the system and entrepreneurs. During the project, new participants have emerged wishing to participate in the system development. The commitment has been great in all participants to push issues forward and contribute to the outcome. Everyone is interested in participating in a future collaborative project.
