Important results from the project
Increase Uppsala-Stockholms and east central Swedens growth and reinforce its international attraction and competitiveness in the Life sciences and play a leading role in contributing to the development - See appendix "Leverage level 1-4". Increase Swedens growth and strengthening its international attraction and competitiveness in the Life sciences - See "Leverage level 1-4". The national rollout gears up with step-wise increased Resources via the implementation of a common request-for-finance model - National rollout carried through. Accelerated through Swelife.
Expected long term effects
In crease the outflow of clinically and industrially scrutinized, quality-assured and investable Product concepts that are developed to Products - Done by development of BIO-X and Swelife as well as via the incubator UIC. Increase the flow of international capital and competence to Sweden - Done primarily through industrial partnerships and SULS. Increase regional collaborations - Done through various coordination regionally and nationally. This contribute to a long term economic growth and Swedisk international competitiveness.
Approach and implementation
A request-for-finance model for BIO-X was developed as part of the national rollout. A modified variant was implemented as part of Swelife´s hands-on model. Regional nodes were established in Eastern middle Sweden/Stockholm, Western Sweden and Northern Sweden as part of the national rollout. Regional nodes in Linköping, Skåne and Stockholm were established as part of Swelifes hands-on. Visibility and marketing was primarily carried through via SULS. Later also through other Campaigns such as "EMA to Sweden". Further collaboration delivered through eg UIC, Innovation Akademiska
