Important results from the project
We have met the goals set for the project. Although we have had to adapt to the new conditions, we are satisfied with the project´s outcome. Initially, the idea was to develop two separate units, of which one camera and one screen unit. Over time, portability emerged as an increasingly important factor, resulting in an integrated camera and display device that can stand on a desk and be used directly with Univid either at home, in a lecture hall or in a conference room.
Expected long term effects
The developed camera unit can have a major impact on the possibilities for easy recording and streaming of lectures when presentations return to physical environments, and especially for hybrid settings. For now, we see recording via webcam as the standard for fully digital meetings, and will also be the standard on Univid´s platform.
Approach and implementation
In general, the project was carried out according to plan. Hardware and software have been developed iteratively and the development has taken place in connection with interviews with teachers and decision-makers in the education world. As virtually all presentations and meetings today are digital, no physical pilot projects have been carried out, but the unit works as intended and is ready for testing when things return to physical environments. For now, Univid focuses on optimizing the experience in completely digital meetings.
