Important results from the project
The aim of this pilot project was to investigate the possibilities for further development of TWOOD, a new innovative material based on textile waste. The goal was to identify best possible binders for the material and to identify a value chain for further industrial development. The results are successful and open up for good possibilities
Expected long term effects
Through workshops two binders have been identified as possible to develop further, where one is bio based and biodegradable. Discussion within both industry and academia shows positive effects and potential advantages. We have ongoing dialog with major stakeholders on future cooperation´s.
Approach and implementation
Experimental research has been done to test and evaluate different binders with the special recycling method. Samples have been made with chosen binders. Stakeholders along the value chain have been identified and contacted and the response is positive for the material TWOOD and collaboration on further development.
