Important results from the project

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** TWOOD is a new and innovative production process that can produce a unique wood-like material from worn-out jeans. The purpose of Innovativa Startups 2 was to build on from phase 1 by broadening the product portfolio and ensuring production technology and capacity to take the step into the market. Despite the challenges of pandemic and revised planning, the goals have mainly been met and the interest in material innovation has proven to be great in a number of different industries. Products are under development in collaborations with commercial actors.

Expected long term effects

**Denna text är maskinöversatt* TWOOD´s solution has the potential to change the market by offering an industrialized process that meets the market eligibility requirements for increased resource efficiency and design. At the same time, TWOOD contributes to improved sustainability and specifically increased resource efficiency from a societal perspective. This is completely in line with several of the sustainability goals in agenda 2030. TWOOD´s specific appearance and properties have been shown to attract several different industries and be useful for various applications.

Approach and implementation

* Denna text är maskinöversatt * The project was divided into 4 activities. AP 1. Quality assure technology and ensure the production process. AP 2. Verification of process and final material. AP 3. Development of product series and expanded product portfolio with additional denim-based materials. AP 4. Development of the business plan to ensure competence and funding for the next step Pandemic-related causes affected the original design and implementation. With continuously revised planning, the project has been driven forward and achieved good results despite these limitations
