Important results from the project

The vision for the TS-Europe is to raise awareness of road safety at European level during H2020, for more and better calls and thus more projects with Swedish actors. The project has had two broad objectives: 1) Traffic-related topics, reflecting Swedish priorities and interests are well represented in Horizon2020-calls. 2) Swedish players are included in the approved projects and the winning consortia.

Expected long term effects

Swedish players are well positioned, networks nationally and internationally are stronger and the knowledge of the European system of research funding and cooperation is greater. Road safety is on the European research agenda, mainly integrated in larger systems issues. Swedish players have been successful in the recent calls relevant to road safety including automated vehicles and transportation systems.

Approach and implementation

The work is done mainly through participation in working groups for road safety in EARPA and ERTRAC as well as selected national and European meetings. The strategy for TS-Europe has been to contribute to effective call texts regarding Swedish actors priority areas and enabling competitive applications and consortia building, encourage management of projects, etc. SAFER has been the responsible hub and by a small working group exploited and made use of the SAFER platform and networks to proactively influence and participate in the design of texts and other input to the commission.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
