Purpose and goal

The TECoSA center is dedicated to advancing the scientific foundations, methodologies, and technologies of future trustworthy edge-based computing systems and applications. In this area, the goals of the center are to deliver world-class research, foster a knowledge ecosystem, and in creating an innovation ecosystem. Focus areas include assurance of edge-based cyber-physical systems, edge-AI including foundation models and exploration of new use cases for edge-computing.

Expected effects and result

Direct results include scientific publications, industrial transfer resulting in products and services of industrial partners, educated PhDs and engineering students, catalyzing significant associated projects, exploration of new use cases, center growth and establishing strategic external collaborations. Longer term expected impact includes attracting R&D investments to Sweden, a collaborative ecosystem contributing to sustainable innovations, and a boost in strategic competence.

Planned approach and implementation

The approach of TECoSA builds on establishing close collaboration across its partners, encompassing smaller and larger companies in different industrial domains as well as a multidisciplinary team of academic researchers. The collaboration is supported by establishing an inclusive e culture, knowledge sharing, a balance between shorter and longer term projects, and the TECoSA testbeds where integration for the purposes of verification, validation, demonstration and innovation take place.
