Project duration November 2017 - March 2018
Status Completed

Important results from the project

The project aims to develop a basis for assessing the potential for further developing an IoT platform and seeking support for this within the EU Horizon 2020 program. The basis shall describe both technical and market conditions. Security issues are prioritized and the platform has been developed with a broad security tip from the outset. Since our target group is SMEs, it is important to be able to offer a solution with reasonable pricing. Our solution is to offer a possibility to purchase single modules and building on afterward and by price based on the number of connected items.

Expected long term effects

The results of our analyzes confirm the great need for and great interest in IoT, even though the level of knowledge is strongly changing. The need for support from an IoT platform like ours, which controls all connected products, can test and validate their products and software, full traceability, etc. is big. An absolute majority of those we talked to confirm that the functionality we offer is demanded and largely necessary. The conclusion is that we will seek funding from Horizon 2020 with the aim of being ready to commercialize early in the year 2020.

Approach and implementation

The project has included market analysis, competitor analysis, project management and administration from our Gothenburg office and technical GAP analysis from our Karlskrona office. Four people have been involved, one full-time (technology) and the other 25-40%. In addition to desktop analyzes for primarily market and competitor analyzes, we have interviewed and demonstrated our platform for 15 companies. The results have been documented in a preliminary study report submitted to Vinova, which forms the basis for our application for further funding through Horizon 2020.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
