Important results from the project

Target: To develop a learning solution that works for all users. To evaluate Claned with users with disabilities. To transfer Internet into a library of digital learning material that is accessible for all. Fulfillment: The accessibility of Claned platform has significantly improved during the project. A process to guarantee the accessibility of the future releases was created. Diverse groups of people including users with disabilities, were involved in the platform testing and design. Hence, Claned is in the right path to disrupt the learning business and work for all users.

Expected long term effects

Funka developed accessibility criteria for Claned platform to be used in all design iterations. A methodology for reporting the accessibility issues was created to guarantee that the accessibility also in the future. Testing was carried out by accessibility experts, end-users experienced with Claned and users with disabilities with or without assistive technologies. In the final assessment round Claned shows a significant improvement in accessibility compared to the first test round. Claned is on the right path to become accessible and user friendly.

Approach and implementation

The project proceeded according to the plan from defining the criteria, carrying out the testing in various forms to developing methodology to include accessibility into the mainstream SW development. Several design iterations were carried out. Collaboration between the project parties was very good: majority of issues were handled on the course of the normal agenda of the project. Three one-day workshops were arranged to deepen the knowledge and training in accessibility. The deliverables served as the documentation and design support for the future phases development.
