Important results from the project

The purpose of gathering ideas, inspiration and knowledge from the food sector in Singapore and then passing it on to the Swedish food industry in the form of advice, lectures etc. was fulfilled through ideas both from local actors but also in the creation of contact with others on the trip. We will compile our own report based on the knowledge that was acquired and hold talks, write in industry press, etc. to inspire an increased rate of innovation and increased degree of self-sufficiency.

Expected long term effects

Macklean wants to be able to contribute to the spread of ideas and knowledge as an inspiration to Swedish food companies to invest even more in innovation in order to strengthen their competitiveness both in the Swedish and international markets. The plan that Singapore has set around increased self-sufficiency can also stimulate the Swedish food sector to think in new ways - both private and public actors.

Approach and implementation

Compiling reports, giving talks and writing in industry press is work that Macklean will carry out in the coming year based on the knowledge gained during the trip. In this way, the trip is the start of the project and the implementation can only be summarized when we can compile the response from the industry in about a year.
