Important results from the project
CSN, with support from Vinnova, reached all the established project goals: * To have made data from eight of the authority´s data sources available in a statistical database that is accessed via www.csn.se * Having described the metadata according to DCAT-AP. The descriptions are available on www.oppnadata.se In addition, the historical interest rate levels and student aid amounts for the various loan types have been posted as open data.
Expected long term effects
The introduction of Banner Student aid-in-numbers makes it easier for people to find CSN´s statistics It goes better to choose the statistics you want to see It is possible to generate information anytime of the day It is possible to select different data formats, including an API It is clear what the statistics may be used to The transfer of data from the agency´s Data Warehouse to the statistical database has been automated CSN can continue to develop the statistical database with more data Metadata descriptions according to DCAT-AP make it easier to find and understand CSN´s statistics
Approach and implementation
All IT development has been done by CSN. A participant in the project is a statistician, CSN knowledgeable and a former IT developer, which have made the work go quickly. This is despite that the planned consultancy support couldn´t be realized. Otherwise, a developer (Data Warehouse) and a developer (for DCAT-AP) have done a lot of work. The project has been led by a project manager and the project plan has been followed, with some adjustments. Software (PX-Web) developed by Statistics Sweden is used to make data available in a database. Data is stored on a server and accessed via www.csn.se
