Important results from the project

The project included development and field studies that resulted in a usable commercial product for traceability through image recognition of log ends. The field study has provided a large base of log images to build our mega database and the development and implementation of a segmentation model and train our algorithm to, among other things, identify various quality defects and characteristics of the individual log.

Expected long term effects

The expected effects of the project quantified in growth: - In 5 years we expect an operating profit of 230 million (cautiously calculated, all depending on whether we get started as planned). - In the long term. To have a low attractive price per image as we want to get in large quantities. With the new built technology and AI development, we should be able to have a database that will actively handle 150 million images per year. - New establishments in the international market.

Approach and implementation

The collaboration plan in each work package has been followed with some adjustments according to the management system, introduced in the project. Each actor´s responsibilities, powers and dissemination of results have been followed based on the specified milestones. The partner constellation created good conditions for achieving the projects´ objectives and deliveries. Our partners have continuously reported and this has been followed up to achieve the greatest and best goal fulfillment.
