Important results from the project
The goal of the project was to build a technical solution to improve the efficiency in the search for missing persons. NorthTracker develops solutions for GPS-positioning and one of these was thought to have potential to improve Missing Peoples search activities and associated documentation. CSES also played a role in coaching Missing People on business development issues. At start, goals for Missing People´s revenue model were set, and partly as a result of CSES activities MP now has a different partnership strategy and has started working with a number of new partners.
Expected long term effects
The technical development resulted in a solution that gives Missing People the opportunity to follow search efforts on a map in real-time. Furthermore, the solution allows documenting search efforts meaning that it is now possible to communicate to other parties (e.g. the Police) what areas that have been covered and what remains. The business model went through an review and can now be considered more economically sustainable than before.
Approach and implementation
At the outset goals for the project were set and during the project CSES has met the two other parties together and individually to make sure the goals were to be met. CSES method for coaching and business development worked well even though a certain amount of the work had to be done at distance
