Important results from the project
To provide the fast growing cities over the world with water, food and energy, and to take care of sewage and solid waste is a great challenge. Development of new sustainable systems that also take climate changes in consideration demands tight co-operation between researchers, sewage treatment plants, waste handling companies, architects, urban construction companies and entrepreneurs of all technology steps. A future waste water system has to give possibilities to recirculate water and nutrients in a safe way in compact and energy efficient units to an acceptable cost.
