Important results from the project
Our aim was to develop a prototype for a web app version 1 to be able to give everyone the opportunity to tell their story, pay tribute to someone and listen to personal audiobooks. The prototype partly became a ready to use web app that we could test and make audiobooks in. We did interviews with Swedish descendents in the USA and various audio books with everything from wedding speeches to goodbyes at the funeral coffee. We came to the conclusion that a mobile app is the right thing to develop because the recordings were made via mobile and that almost everyone has a mobile today.
Expected long term effects
We have done many interviews and audiobooks. The web app was almost completed as version 1. The website was completed but not to our satisfaction and just as a framework. Everything has given us more meat on our bones about what we want to do and our business concept has become much more concrete. We have decided to abandon the first version of the website, the web app and have found a new development team that builds a mobile app and a nice UX design. We have also acquired domain names and started creating a member portal that will contain scripts, tips, workshops and training.
Approach and implementation
I have worked on this project in addition to my regular job as a teacher. It has been demanding and at times difficult to know what is required in such a large project. Quite early I found a programme for organization, Trello, which made it easier to plan and get an overview of systems, market and other things for everyone in the team. The team is well composed and we complement and overlap each other well. Covid 19 caused the programmer to slow down and he was phased out. The web app could be tested and I got a good insight into how I wanted to develop the new mobile app in the next step.
