Important results from the project
The wood based diaperThe aim is to develop a diaper based on cellulose. We intend to create an absorbent porous structure in which the wood fibre provides the complex structure and function required in a high performance diaper. Production process and sustainability aspects are important.
Expected long term effects
The project will deliver components to a sustainable hygiene product, based on life cycle thinking.
Approach and implementation
The project consists of six subprojects. Three of them are focused on fibre modification and the development of fibre bonding technologies. The purpose of subproject four and five is to create and evaluate fibre network structures, and to evaluate the potential for full scale production. Subproject six will handle the environmental and sustainability aspects. The project will run for four years.
