The Transformation Hotel´s blue community garden

Important results from the project

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The vision was to create a citizen´s lab, a futurist, a blue prototype workshop; a meeting place with a stage, communal kitchen and a marine allotment an Omställnings-Hôtel. The transition hotel has been developed as a prototype for a physical meeting place, to co-create and develop other prototypes. These prototypes focus on the near present, on gradual change, and together they create a place where one can step into the future and take part in functions that may be in place within 5-10 years on a larger scale.

In addition, Omställningshotellet has generated its first prototype - an outdoor kitchen - together with students at HDK and Egnahemsfabriken. Conversations with the public and professionals have been held in connection with the Frihamnsdagarna, about the site´s content and function. Through a collaboration with Folkuniversitetet, we have conducted a course during the spring, to spread knowledge about blue conversion and the possibilities of the river.

Approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The conversion hotel has been built in stages, the marine allotment was built first. After that, the basic structure with workshop, community kitchen and stage has come into place. The kitchen was built together with students at HDK and Egnahemsfabriken. The activities have given rise to many new collaborations, both to develop Omställningshotellet and for the marine allotment. We have secured continued funding to further develop the marine allotment on site and to create several marine allotments in the region.
