Purpose and goal
The purpose of the project is to build system capacity throughout the entire value chain for Swedish wool in order to take care of produced all wool. This will be achieved through circular business models and circular design, implementation of new processes and techniques, and development of a regional collection station. The goals are to: - increase resource efficiency throughout the whole value chain, - utilize and process larger volumes and more qualities of Swedish wool, - ensure that more circular and susttainable products reach end consumers, - strengthen the Swedish wool brand.
Expected effects and result
The project is expected to contribute to a resource-efficient and resilient value chain for Swedish wool where the system-wide conversion work contributes to creating business benefits for all actors in the value chain, a commercial market for all Swedish wool, and traceability of the raw material down to farm level. Expected effects include: - New working methods and innovation work in the industry - Increased use of a renewable material that today goes to waste - Resource efficiency and standardization throughout the value chain - Improved continuity in the industrial value chain
Planned approach and implementation
The project is carried out via collaboration in the entire value chain - from primary production, processing stage, product development to sales and communication with the end consumer. The focus of the work packages is on technology solutions in the processing of wool at the supplier level, and on design of innovative products that enable circular product use.
