Important results from the project
The objectives were -Influence coming calls within Horizon 2020 -Position Swedish areas of excellence in Europe -Improve the conditions for the Swedish water sector to participate in Horizon 2020 -Strengthen the participation of companies in Horizon 2020 The level of fulfillment has been high. The level of participation from Swedish parts has increased during the time period and projects has been approved. The participation from the business sector consisted of small innovative enterprises who took part in European activities through support from the Swedish Water platform.
Expected long term effects
The work with influencing Horizon 2020 through the European water platform WssTP lead to call texts that strengthen Swedish needs an areas of excellence. Swedish water organisations have to a higher level participated in applications than before and projects have been approved. The Water Platform has become a network where Swedish organisations cooperate and support each other. The ambition to involve more companies and cooperate with other platforms were successful only to a minor degree. Efforts made in those areas can hopefully give results in the future.
Approach and implementation
The work with influencing Horizon 2020 through the European has been successful, where the Water vision has been important. The Water vison is the Swedish water sector´s R&I agenda and is now being upgraded by the water platform. Grants for participating in European conferences meant an increase in the Swedish participation in Horizon 2020 applications and projects. A test in 2018 giving grants for arranging consortium meetings were successful. One supported project idea, Aqua Vitae, lead to a financed Horizon 2020 project.
