Important results from the project

The project resulted in new knowledge regarding seniors´ travel habits, motives and wishes for future living environments and mobility. A user-driven approach has been tested in the project. It has provided important insights into but also demonstrated the importance of working with the target group in order to be able to work with adapted solutions. Despite the fact that important new knowledge has been produced, a need for further deepening of knowledge has been identified from all actors.

Expected long term effects

The results contribute new knowledge and new questions into the planning process for both real estate actors, mobility actors and consultants. However, as described above, an important results is that more studies are needed to understand the nuances of the results and deepen knowledge. Based on the result that user-driven processes can lead to other results, we believe that it can lead to increased involvement of the target group and, in the long term, to changed working methods.

Approach and implementation

The project consisted of a cluster analysis based on data from TravelVu, interviews with real estate and mobility stakeholders regarding wishes, obstacles and opportunities related to mobility services for seniors, and workshops with seniors where their preferences and thoughts about living environment and mobility were in focus. Finally, an analysis workshop was conducted together with the project´s actors to deepen knowledge and discuss new insights.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
