Important results from the project
The project has been involved in innovation-driven efforts locally in the village of Duved, Åre municipality. Solutions have been developed based on Duved residents´ needs in areas such as accommodation, food supply, service, culture and digitalization. The results will be linked together with a focus on systematizing the experiences and spreading them nationally, on a macro level. This will be executed by testing methods for future investments in social values, analyzes of local communities, and management of future local social consequences with a particular focus on health.
Expected long term effects
A collaborative plan has been developed with the goal of engaging villagers in participation and influence. Building permit applications have been submitted for five architect-designed apartment buildings. A planning document has been drawn up for a large-scale greenhouse which includes locally grown food, and which will also function as a meeting place. Contributed to Agenda 2030 through the preschool to be built in Duved, with loans via a social investment model. Extensive planning and work efforts have been carried out before the national scale-up of the Duvet model.
Approach and implementation
The innovative core of the Duved model is the collaboration plan - governance through local collaboration - developed by representatives of Åre municipality, Årehus, Eau et Gaz, Duved Byförening, Tyréns and KTH. The collaboration plan is based on network governance with the aim that local actors are granted formal authority over the development of the village. The purpose is partly to support the local development plans in Duved on a micro level, and partly to study the collaboration plan´s strengths, weaknesses and potential for national scale-up and implementation on a macro level.
