Important results from the project
We have planned a testbed for wastewater infiltration systems. Our milestones have been based on implementing the planning phase according to well-established praxis. We have prepared a specification for the testbed’s physical construction and applied for permits required for its construction. We have prepared our laboratory to be able to analyse wastewater and worked towards becoming certified for these analyses. We have prepared the testbed’s organisation, developed a business plan and considered risks, its market och potential environmental benefits.
Expected long term effects
An important result of this VINNOVA co-financed planning phase has been to prepare a project description to be able to apply for financing for establishing the testbed. Given that we have submitted an application together with four producers of infiltration systems and Norrtälje Municipality, we have succeeded in obtaining stakeholder support for establishing a testbed for wastewater infiltration systems. We shall continue to seek financing in case this first application does not succeed and hope to be able to begin establishing the testbed within the next couple of years.
Approach and implementation
The Water Centre for Innovation (UCV) at Campus Roslagen AB, Baga Water Technology AB, Luleå University of Technology, Samuelsson Mekaniska AB, Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE), Upplunda bygg och vatten AB and Vatteninfo Sverige AB have carried out this project’s planning phase during the past two years. UCV led the project and other participants contributed according to their expertise. With a timely idea, good co-operation between participants and a network of producers and researchers interested in establishing the testbed, we have succeeded in reaching our project goals.
