Important results from the project
The overall aim of the study was to lay the foundation for a project leading to a test bed being put into operation according to stakeholders needs. The study has identified a large interest in a test bed for land-based aquaculture. Even the study showed lack of a large-scale test bed with a system perspective, which can ensure that various components work together. The pre-study has formed the basis for the next step of laying out the structure for a future investment decision and realization.
Expected long term effects
The result shows an interest in and need for the test bed. Through a workshop, possible content has been examined, where the results revealed several dimensions of offers. The results show that two possible forms of organization can fit the test bed, either a company of multiple owners or one owner with long-term partnership agreements. Regardless of the organizational form, it is important that the test bed has Sotenäs as a main participant and guarantor of an open, accessible and collaborative environment.
Approach and implementation
The pre-study was divided into four workpackages (WP) where the fourth was for project management and gender analysis. WP1 Needs and market analysis and WP2 were performed through both contact within the network and desktop analysis. Strength area of Sotenäs as site were identified and whether this provides a unique test bed opportunity. WP3 mapped out the needs from potential testers, for which suggestions for content, ownership, model of operation and setup were developed.
